20240716 Montpelier 100

Today, my sister Angela and I started a little earlier on our ride over to Montpelier to have more of a brunch so we would be sure to be hungry for Feijoãda for supper. We ate at the Ranch Hand. On the way over, I marked on the GPS where the motorcycle on the fence was, so I could be ready to stop for pictures. I've seen it here over the years and this year I finally stopped to take a couple pictures. Something else I had seen a couple times, but never stopped for a picture is the cowboy riding deer crossing sign north of Smoot. We stopped here as well.

Once we got done taking the pictures, we started to smell burning. I had pulled down on the four wheeler trail that went through the borrow pit. I pulled back up next to the highway and then backed to where we were stopped. There were a few charred blades of grass. Angela got off the stomped on them to make sure they wouldn't ignite.

Zach had suggested that we stop by Aviat and he would give us a tour. So we stopped and talked to the lady at the front desk. I sent Zach a text while she walked us back toward where he works. He was just about to leave for lunch, but we caught him and he gave us a little tour first. Then Angela and I made our way back home.
