20210705 5th Annual Freedom Grand Prix

My Sister Wendy, wanting to get her ride in, got hold of the Aunties and arranged for rides this morning (July 5th). After finishing up a couple things, I pulled the trike out of the trailer and we were ready to go. Wendy need a selfie.

We headed down the road and before long we made it the 16 miles to freedom.

As we got closer to the stop sign, I asked Wendy if we were going to Aunt Trudy's or Aunt Veloy's first. She said, Aunt Trudy's because she is so "busy".

Pulling in the driveway, Aunt Trudy and Cousin Azure came out. After a little chit chat Aunt Trudy was ready for her ride. She requested that we go south this time, instead of the north route we have normally taken previous years. I said sure, and we were on our way.

The north route is fairly straight and runs along multiple hay fields. The south route is fairly windy and runs next to some hills, with a much fresher "wilderness" scent to it.

We went four miles down the road and then turned around. While turning around and asked how she was doing and if I was taking the corners ok. I explained that if I were alone I would be pushing the corners a little harder, and I just wanted to make sure she was comfortable. She said that I was doing fine, but not to push them any harder.

Also while turning around, we had a couple dogs come out to say hello, directly followed by the owner calling them and apologizing. We said they were fine and then began our return trip.

Arriving back at her house, we went in and she said "Next". At which point, we all went back out and got Cousin Azure on the back.

Since it was Azures first time, and she was worried about the corners, it was decided that I would take her on the north route. Pictures were taken and we were on our way.

As we were going down the road I, just for a test, gave a little swerve back and forth. As I did, Azure swayed back and forth, being pushed by centrifugal force. Yea, it was a good idea to take the straight route with her.

Upon our return, it was arranged that Azure and Trudy would join us over to Aunt Veloy's. Wendy and I climbed on the trike and Azure and Trudy on the side-by-side, and we went the .3 miles to Aunt Veloy's.

After a few minutes of conversation, Veloy got her little stool and we got her up on the trike. I took Veloy on the same route that I took Tudy, although we were not greeted by the dogs at the turn around spot.

I also asked her how I was doing in the corners and she said it was great. And with that we began the return trip.

After assisting Veloy on the trike, we went to the porch and had some good conversation. Then it was decided that people had things to do and we began our disbursement.

Wendy did have pictures take here with her on the back because when she did it selfie style, she couldn't get the bike.

Instead of taking the main highway, we took the south route through the windy road back into Thayne. The low fuel light had come on a while back, so I did stop in Thayne to put in a gallon to make sure I could get to Afton to fill up all the way.

Reaching Grover, I asked if Wendy wanted to go with to Afton to fill up, of if she wanted me to drop her off. She wanted to go with, so we went into Afton and filled up. After which, we returned home.

And that brings us to the end of another Freedom Grande Prix.
